Can a small business, run by two artist, survive in the 21st century, during one of the worst recessions this country has ever seen? After almost 30 years in the business, things are so tight, Steve Heller's Fabulous Furniture company is struggling to survive in these difficult times. But it's his wife, Martha, the business manager, who has to take on the brunt of the pressure, for she's made a pack with her husband that all he has to do is create and she'll worry about paying the bills.
Each episode will contain something new and different, being built at the Fabulous Furniture shop in Woodstock, New York. Welcome to Stevie's World! Each week we will be introduced into the mind of a creative, wacky and lovable genius as we watch him design and build things he dreams up out of the ether. We will be there to watch as Steve and his trusty assistant, Mikey, construct spaceships, dinosaurs, custom cars, unique one of a kind furniture, metal sculpture, fertility totems and commissioned art pieces. Custom Cars and custom motor-bikes will be a large part of each episode - why? - Because Steve and Mikey live for it!
When Steve's first custom car, the Marquis Desoto, (a new Mercury Marquis sedan, customized with parts from 22 other 1950’s cars,) won the NY Times Collectible Car of the Year Award in 2008, Steve realized he had a shot at his dream - to emulate some of his heroes - George Barris and Gene Whitfield – and become a “big-time” custom car builder. And guess what? The following year, the car won first place in it's class at the prestigious Grand National Rodster show in Pomono Callifornia and Steve's dream came true, now an equal with some of the hottest custom car builders in the world.
Each season they will design and customize a new car and you'll be along for the ride.
THE BACKGROUND
Steve and his wife, Martha are fixtures in Woodstock, NY. For the last 27 years they have run a small company called Fabulous Furniture where Steve makes outrageous wood and metal sculpture and functional art. He also designs and creates his custom cars there.
Woodstock is rich with characters and many of the celebrities who live in the region, (Robert Deniro, Jim Jarmusch, Aidan Quinn, Steve Buscemi) are friends and customers. Some of Steve’s projects are commissioned pieces of art and his clients will be characters in the show. Recently a new client commissioned Steve to design and build a custom trailer, using the rear-end from a 1962 Cadillac. He plans to tow it behind his newly restored 1960 Corvette during a trip along famous Route 66.
ACCESS AND STYLE Cinetrope Entertainment has forged a close friendship with Steve and Martha since March of 2009, forming a strong relationship based on trust and mutual respect. The producer is a frequent guest at their home for dinner on shoot days.

While Steve tries to make a name for himself at automobile shows, procuring business with future car clients in the heady world of the custom automobile industry, can they turn a profit at Fabulous Furniture while not driving Martha crazy as she scrambles to pay the bills?
